United Nations Police Association of Australia (UNPAA) becomes an APMP “Friend of Peacekeeping”

The APMP was delighted to recently receive a further donation from the United Nations Police Association of Australia (UNPAA) that now raises the amount that the UNPAA has contributed to the Memorial Project to in excess of $5000. This now qualifies the UNPAA as a APMP “Friend of Peacekeeping”.

The UNPAA has supported the APMP from the very start of the campaign to construct a national Memorial to Australian Peacekeeping. In acknowledgment of the UNPAA support, the Chair of the APMP recently presented to the National Chairman of the UNPAA, Mr Denis Percy, with an APMP Certificate of Appreciation. The Chairman noted that National President of the UNPAA and NSW State President have been most active in their support of the Project and have contributed a number of amounts to the APMP as outlined on earlier news items. He thanked Denis for his personal and active participation as a Committee Member of the APMP. He also acknowledged the excellent contribution by Australian police to Peace Operations around the world over many years and the major role that Australian police continue to play in assisting the stabilization of countries emerging from conflict.

The donations and support by the UNPAA is gratefully acknowledged by the APMP Committee and appreciated by all past and serving peacekeepers. The UNPAA is now listed on the APMP website as a “Friend of Peacekeeping”
